Hans Powers, President & CEO
Mr. Powers has twenty years of experience in various analytic, corporate marketing, business development, and consulting roles in the financial services, semiconductor, healthcare, renewable energy, and export industries both domestically and in Asia. In addition to serving as President & CEO of Marquam Capital, Hans is a partner and Financial Operations Principal of HP Securities, a FINRA-member broker/dealer, and occasionally offers his consulting services to local companies as they migrate to the public markets.
Prior to founding Marquam Capital, he was president of Rubicon Global Asset Management, LLC. Prior to Rubicon, he served as a registered broker managing derivative trading and managed commodities funds for his clients at Pacific Rim Asset Management, an IB of Vision Financial Markets LLC, as well as a co-founder of a privately held software start-up. He holds a MBA/IM degree from Thunderbird- The American Graduate School of International Management, a BA in Economics, and a BA in Japanese from Portland State University. Mr. Powers enjoys traveling and studying foreign cultures, and has focused his efforts to include this "international" component in his career. He has traveled extensively in Asia and North America both with a briefcase and when time allowed with a backpack.
Blake Goud, Chief Compliance Officer
Mr. Goud has over five years experience in the financial services industry, with a focus on compliance and ethical finance. In addition to serving as Chief Compliance Officer of Marquam Capital, Blake is also a partner and Chief Compliance Officer for HP Securities, Inc., a FINRA-member broker/dealer, and occasionally offers his consulting services to local companies as they migrate to the public markets. Blake is also an expert on Islamic finance, with a particular interest in microfinance, and has spoken on the subject at conferences across the U.S. and Canada.
Prior to founding Marquam Capital, he was Chief Compliance Officer at Rubicon Global Asset Management, LLC. Mr. Goud graduated from Reed College with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 2003. While at Reed College, Mr. Goud interned at the Oregon Center for Public Policy (OCPP), a non-profit, non-partisan think tank before spending a year abroad at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland in his junior year. His thesis at Reed, based on a paper written at Trinity, is an empirical study of firm performance in post-Communist economies.
Mr. Goud has been involved in volunteer work in El Salvador and South Carolina as well as having completed the Washington, DC AIDS Ride twice, where he raised money to help people in the Washington area living with HIV/AIDS.
