Hans Powers, President & CEOMr. Powers has over fifteen years of experience in various analytic, corporate marketing, and business development roles in the financial services, semiconductor, healthcare, and export industries both domestically and in Asia. Prior to founding Marquam Capital, he was president of Rubicon Global Asset Management, LLC. Prior to Rubicon, he served as a registered broker managing derivative trading and managed commodities funds for his clients at Pacific Rim Asset Management, an IB of Vision Financial Markets LLC, as well as a co-founder of a privately held software start-up. He holds a MBA/IM degree from Thunderbird- The American Graduate School of International Management, a BA in Economics, and a BA in Japanese from Portland State University. Mr. Powers enjoys traveling and studying foreign cultures, and has focused his efforts to include this "international" component in his career. He has traveled extensively in Asia and North America both with a briefcase and when time allowed with a backpack. Blake Goud, Chief Compliance Officer Mr. Goud has over five years experience in the financial services industry and has been active in both the private and non-profit sectors. Prior to founding Marquam Capital, he was Chief Compliance Officer at Rubicon Global Asset Management, LLC. Mr. Goud also served as Executive Director at the Institute of Halal Investing, a nonprofit think tank focused on demystifying Islamic finance. During this same time he was Executive Director of the One Ummah Foundation, a charity focused on literacy and education in South Asia. Mr. Goud graduated from Reed College with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 2003. While at Reed College, Mr. Goud interned at the Oregon Center for Public Policy (OCPP), a non-profit, non-partisan think tank before heading to Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland for his junior year. His thesis at Reed, based on a paper written at Trinity, is an empirical study of firm performance in post-Communist economies. Mr. Goud has been involved in volunteer work in El Salvador and South Carolina as well as having completed the Washington, DC AIDS Ride twice, where he raised money to help people in the Washington area living with HIV/AIDS. He enjoys playing bass guitar in a traditional Irish band in his free time. |
